Scrapbook Boutique’s challenge #2 is to create a project using at least 2 or more hand crafted die cuts (not alphabet or bought ones). One of the machines you can use is a Cricut, and guess what …. I have one.
I bought this item when I first started scrapbooking and they were fairly new to the market. I think I used it a couple of times and then put it in a cupboard, and haven’t used it since. I didn’t have space for it, and it seemed too complicated to think about. How wrong was I!!! I have re-fallen in love with it and will now be using it regularly.
I also recently purchased a Big Shot but so far have only 1 die cut for it, a collection in the infant stage. But now I have got my Cricut out and am feeling confident using it, I may want to start investing in some cartridges as well.
Anyway, back to the card. I originally got the idea from Kristina Werner’s blog, I think is was a love heart to use up ribbon scraps. I have so many scraps of paper that I did my own take on the idea. I have used the negative of the star die cut and the tag is die cut (with it’s ‘shadow’), all done on my circuit machine. I hope using the negative counts as a die cut?
I am so happy about this challenge because it made me get out a machine that I spent a significant amount of money purchasing and was beginning to regret. So Evelyn, thank you very much, I no longer regret my purchase.
